Fidget quilts are small lap quilts with little activities sewn on to keep fingers busy on active or nervous hands. A fidget quilt gives those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia something to fiddle with and think about. A plastic photo sleeve can be added to your fidget quilt so that a loved one can keep a family photo near. These fidget quilts can also be used as a sensory activity for special needs children or used as an activity mat for toddlers.
In this class you will make a nine-square lap-size fidget quilt. (Finished size: 18” x 18”.) We will show you different activities that can be included on your fidget mat and how to construct them.
Some items will be available in class for you to choose from and add to your piece, but you should come to class with a variety of items to add to your fidget quilt. Examples of items to bring are included on the class supply list.
No quilting experience is necessary.
